One morning, during our recent stay in Miami, I woke up and saw a great warm light sneaking in through the small space in between the two curtains. I jumped out of bed and ran to our balcony and saw this great sunrise. I quickly grabbed my camera, slipped on my Nikon 70 -200 VR lens and started looking for the right composition. This would have been easier if I was actually awake but I didn't have time to wait for coffee and a shower. Nature does not wait for breakfast!!
We were staying at the hotel Tempo. a great hotel that we recommend, and our room looked out at Biscayne Bay and at a cruise ship that was docked. These are a few of the images I took that morning.
I always have a fresh battery and a card in my camera even when I am sleeping, especially when away from home. You never know when you might see that shot: the one that if you don't take it will gnaw at you brain and over time become the greatest image ever not taken.
Once a week, I am going to mention a Blog that I have stumbled upon and like. It may be on many things: cameras, photography, life, food or travel. This week's blog is a travel blog. It is on a particular place: Rome, Italy. I love Italy and Rome is one of my favorite cities in Italy. So this blog is a must read for me and for you, if you have ever visited or are planning to visit or just want to dream about the eternal city, the city of warm wonderful people, great wine, food, history and of course, love.
Conversations Along The Tiber, http://networkedblogs.com/dPbrw, is what a good blog should be, interesting reading with a personal touch. Maria Angela Manente writes this blog and actually lives in Rome, a place that she loves. She will make you want to visit.

Hi Jim, I just zipped over to visit your blog from the comment you left me at Healing Morning. Now I'm following you, for a couple of reasons. One if obviously your beautiful photography - my soul just sighs at the beauty you're creating. The other reason is that I like you concept of highlighting a specific blog in an occasional post. Great idea! I'm going to visit the blog you listed in this post & discover Italy through the eyes of that blog author. :)
Happy creating, my friend!
~ Dawn
