CRANES AND THEIR FIGHT TO SAVE THE NEST UPDATE

We were away this weekend celebrating my birthday. We visited St Augustine's and the St. Augustine's Alligator Farm to photograph the wild birds that flock to their rookery. We will be showing you some what we think are really great images. At least they looked that way in our cameras.
The cranes have put up an amazing fight and continue to do so. Between their efforts and the natural lowering of the water level there is a small and I do mean small island where the parents are able to sit on  the eggs. We have only been in the house about 20 minutes and we have received a small thunder shower. This is obviously worrisome but the forecast is for dry weather, so we are hopeful. I will be there first thing tomorrow morning to record their progress and will report it to you. Thank You for you kind words ( and birthday wishes) your concern and offered prayers in behalf of the cranes is heart warming. To have so many people from all over the world express concern is wonderful. Again Thanks. Here are some images we took.

These images were taken Saturday morning before we left. I did check today and the island is a little longer maybe twice as long. It is only 3 to 4 inches wider which as you can see is the concern. It is raining today so I could not take any pictures  but I will tomorrow.

Stunning pictures Jim, as always.... I wonder what trick did you do with your camera cause everytime I try to take a snapshot of a moving object, I usually don't get the best results.... Hmmmm I have to take a few shots, but before long those special moments with my object have already disappeared...lol Thanks for sharing.:)

That's sure a small island! I hope they have better luck at building it up tomorrow.

Stunning images that really capture the cranes determination to save their family. Here's hoping the next instalment is more positive.ams
